We have decided to remove Cyanide aka abbadon_2 from our Discord server. Previously an approved player, they would login to offer speech in game that was pessimistic towards the game and other players felt was OOC commentary. Staff reached out to them and said that they felt unhappy with the game, and that it is completely acceptable, but voicing that the game sucks In Character was not appropriate. They were respectful in stopping logging in.
However, they tend to pop up and voice that the game sucks in the general chat from time to time and be pessimistic towards the game in its current alpha stage.
Today, staff brought to my attention this post:
I was supremely disappointed in the direction it was taking and couldn’t bring myself to pick it up again.
Maybe one day we can move past RimWorld: the MUD
Searching their discussion history in the game, they seem to just pop up and voice that in our Discord channel from time to time and not do much more else.
Obviously, it’s quite fine to think the game sucks or not like it, but it definitely harms the effort of staff when it is being voiced like that in general chat, without much more than that, nor an interest for it to be constructive.
With that context in mind, we have decided to remove them from the Discord server.
